Careers

Work that pays well, runs on time, and respects your tools.

We hire slowly and keep people for years. If you're a tradesperson who cares about how a job is finished — not just whether it's finished — we'd like to hear from you.

NOW HIRING

About the role

You'll be running domestic and small-commercial electrical installations across the South East — rewires, consumer unit changes, lighting upgrades, EV charge points, EICRs, and electric underfloor heating installs. Most jobs are 1 – 5 days; some are longer refurbishment projects. You'll be the lead on each job you're given: surveying, quoting in conjunction with the office, installing, testing, and signing off.

What you'll be doing

  • First and second fix electrical installation work
  • Consumer unit upgrades and full / partial rewires
  • Lighting installation including LED retrofits and feature lighting
  • EV charge point installation (training provided if not already certified)
  • Installing electric underfloor heating mats and loose-cable systems
  • Inspection, testing, fault-finding and producing EICR reports
  • Talking to clients on site clearly and professionally
  • Keeping the site tidy and leaving each job to the Profirst standard

You'll need

  • 18th Edition (BS 7671) qualified
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
  • 2391 Inspection & Testing (or willingness to obtain)
  • Minimum 3 years' on-the-tools experience post-qualification
  • Full UK driving licence — clean, or close to it
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Tidy, methodical approach and a professional manner with clients

What we offer

  • Competitive salary, paid weekly or monthly to suit
  • Company van, fuel card, phone and tablet
  • Tools and PPE provided where needed
  • 28 days holiday including bank holidays
  • Workplace pension
  • Training budget — extra tickets paid for, time given to study
  • No silly hours. Out-of-hours emergency cover is rota'd and paid

Working at Profirst

What it's actually like.

Small team, regular hours, fair pay. We turn down the kind of jobs that ruin a Friday afternoon.

CULTURE

Small team, low drama.

You'll know everyone you work with. Decisions get made on a phone call, not a chain of emails.

CAREER

Training paid, not promised.

Want your 2391, your EV charge point cert, your solar PV ticket? We'll fund it. We grow people from within.

HOURS

Work that ends at 5.

We schedule jobs honestly. Out-of-hours callouts are voluntary, rota'd and paid on top.
